CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Barre - Pilates
Class description
A 45- minute class combining elements of Barre and Pilates with focus on developing core strength, balance, and flexibility. The Ballet Barre is used in combination with other equipment such as light weights, Pilates ball, balance ball and purple cushions. No prior knowledge of dance is required. Great for all ages and abilities.
Benefits:
Body awareness, muscle tone and core stability.
Band Challenge
Class description:
A 45-minute cardio class using all types of bands. We employ bands for upper body, core and leg moves. This class is for all ages.
Benefits:
Works upper back, shoulders and arms creating core stability while increasing lower body strength.
Forever Balanced
Class description:
A 45-minute class for all. Balance is a concern for many. We practice everyday movements such as walking while looking side to side and side stepping. Core strength is the first building block to stay forever balanced. Class is done barefoot or in sneakers while using the barre, some bands, and our own mindfulness.
Benefits:
Build confidence, balance, and improve everyday movements.
Forever Strong
Class description:
A 45-minute class seated in a chair, working muscles by using a variety of props such as weights, balls, and bands. A great way to increase strength and mobility. Ideal for those new to exercise or recovering from minor surgeries or injuries or are part of the senior community. This class also compliments those taking physical therapy.
Benefits:
Balance, improvement in mind – body connections, body awareness, muscle building and social connection.
Pilates
Class description:
This 45-minute class is based on the Joseph Pilates Contrology practice. Exercise includes body movements which are slow and smooth, with an added breathing practice. This class can start as challenging, but as a result of staying with it, your core strength improves, posture becoming better and your awareness to your body alignment becomes a part of your natural being. The class is performed on the floor using a mat.

Balance, posture improvement, full body workout, mindfulness to your daily movements.
PT Power
Class description:
This 45-minute class is held outside year-round*. Being in the outdoors at Pitman’s Alcyon Park, brings a feeling of creating big movements while filling your lungs with fresh air. The class uses low impact cardio moves, then finishes up with muscle workouts using our own body weight. Good class for all ages. * for severe weather conditions, the class is moved into the studio.

Cardio activity, muscle movement and metabolic improvement.
Strength Training
Class description:
A 45-minute class designed to gain strength and build lean muscles. This is an important class, for as we age, we lose muscle. This impacts our daily lives and increases our loss of mobility. We teach a format that uses all muscles in an everyday movement practice. Not only strength but flexibility will increase.
Benefits:
Keeps bones strong, assists the metabolic system and adds strength.
Tabata
Class description:
A 30-minute cardio class. This fast-paced class can be done low or high impact, with the same moves, just modified. 20 seconds go hard with a 10 second rest. 4 moves are repeated twice. Get your heart rate up by using quick moves and high energy. Good for all ages.
Benefits:
Gives a metabolism boost, deep breathing for increased lung capacity while giving a boost to the heart rate.
Yoga Stretch
Class description:
A 45-minute class using yoga moves for stretching. We hold each movement while breathing in and out through the nose. Taking each movement with intention and increasing the move deeper each time. The beauty of this class is the same movements are used each week. This creates building confidence in the moves which flows through each practice.
Benefits:
Great for all ages. Improves body movements, flexibility, deep stretching and builds calmness in the mind.
Zumba
Class description:
A 45-minute cardio class for all ages with lively dance music, making it feel like you’re going out with a group of friends to dance and have fun! Movements are easy to follow, and the constant variety of music makes the class fly by. Bring your smile and come out to dance!
Benefits:
Cardio for the heart and lungs, learn new movements for the mind to increase cognizant ability.
